Choose tables and columns with SELECT

SELECT chooses the columns to return. FROM names the source table. Inspect all columns first, then choose the fields needed for the task.

SELECT name, price FROM products;

Common misunderstanding

Selecting fewer columns does not filter rows. Use WHERE to select which products are returned.
